At the beginning of this unit, we asked: What do the stories a culture tells about its founders reveal about what that culture values most?

You've now spent a week with this question. You've read the opening of Beowulf, analyzed its literary techniques, explored Anglo-Saxon culture, and compared it to another tradition.

Directions: Write a brief reflection (5-7 sentences) responding to the essential question. Draw on specific evidence from your work this week. How has your thinking changed or deepened since Day 1?
